Norton, Va./Kingsport, Tn.-Treela May Parker, 65, passed away Tuesday, May 5, 2020, at Norton Community Hospital.

     A native of Wise County, she proudly served in the U. S. Army for over 21 years and retired at as a Master Sergeant.  Her distinguished career as a Psychologist included assignments in South Korea, Germany, Harrisburg, Pa. and Fort Monmouth, NJ, among others.  Treela was honored with many awards during her military career.  Following retirement, she lived in Kingsport, Tn. for several years.  For the last eight months, Treela had resided at The Laurels Assisted Living in Norton, Va.

     She was preceded in death by her parents, Hobert Parker and Bonnie Begley Chandler; and an infant sister.

     Surviving are her brothers, Jim Parker, David Parker and Ronnie Parker; sisters, Kathy Lambron, Lisa Whaley, Debbie Montgomery and Valarie Snyder; several nieces and nephews; and two special nieces and caregivers, Susie Swinney and Barbara Collier.

     Services are private.
