Duffield, Va.-Virginia Ruth Pridemore, 89, passed away on Tuesday, March 23, 2021, at Holston Valley Medical Center, Kingsport, Tn.
She had lived in the Stickleyville community since 1987. She worked for Peoples Drug Store in the Tidewater area of Virginia. Mrs. Pridemore was a member of First Christian Church in Appalachia, Va.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George William Pridemore; daughter, Sandra Nickens; and her parents, William and Callie (Williams) Hoskins.
Surviving are her daughter, Janice Freeland (Mark), Norfolk, Va.; son, Gregory W. Pridemore, Stickleyville, Va.; siblings, Willie May Staley, Winston-Salem, NC, Betty Counoyer, Martha Brothers and Mary Marquis, all of Rhode Island, and Billy Ray Hoskins of Stickleyville, Va.; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service only will be at 10:00am on Friday, Mar. 26, 2021, at Powell Valley Memorial Gardens, 5650 Powell Valley Road, Big Stone Gap, Va., with Pastor Garrett Lee officiating.
