Big Stone Gap, Va.-Wanda Sue Adams, 74, passed away on Thursday, August 24, 2023, at her home, surrounded by her family.
Born in Wise, Va., she was a lifelong resident of Big Stone Gap. Wanda worked as a pharmacy tech alongside her husband Bill. She enjoyed summer days playing tennis with her family. Wanda enjoyed sports, especially those sports that her children and grandchildren participated.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Adams, Sr.; son, William “Billy” Adams, Jr.; her parents, James Thomas Brady and Reba Virginia Moore Brady; and siblings, James K “Bud” Brady, Paul Brady and Patt Humbert.
Surviving are her daughter, Greta Bowman (Josh), Big Stone Gap; son, Sheldon Adams (Megan), Big Stone Gap; grandchildren, Noah Adams, Talan Adams, Connor Bowman, Abby Bowman, Liv Adams and Trigg Adams; brothers, Joe Brady (Linda), Norton, Va. and David Brady of Tennessee; sisters, Judy Blagg and Donna Wolfe, both of Big Stone Gap; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends 2:00pm – 4:00pm Sunday, August 27, 2023, at Gilliam Funeral Home, 618 Wood Avenue, W., Big Stone Gap.
Wanda requested no floral tributes be sent for the visitation, but help someone, and/or an organization, in need.
