Appalachia VA - William Tex Parsons, age 74, went to be with his Lord, Friday, May 9, 2020. 

    Tex was a member of the Haven of Praise Ministries. He loved singing the song he wrote and giving mints to the children on Sunday mornings. He was employed by Mulligan Lumber Co. and had a great love for the mountains and the trees.  He enjoyed working at the Appalachia Food Bank and helping anyone in need.  His hobby was his train collection and when he found a new train to collect, it was a happy day for him. 

    Waiting for him in Heaven, are his parents, Burl and Faye Parsons; his brothers, Joseph “Mark” Parsons and Steve Lynn Parsons; and his sisters, Virginia Pearl Parsons and Bernice “Snooky” Parsons Boggs. 

    He leaves behind his brother, James “Jim” Parsons (Mary) and his sisters, Peggy Lambert, Liz Stidham, Lovella Sizemore, Janice Parsons and Loma “Bubbles” Grubb. 

    Visitation and viewing will be Monday, May 11, 2020, from 10:00am to Noon. Covid-19 restrictions will apply. 

    The graveside service will be at Powell Valley Memorial Gardens with his Pastor, Lee Stidham officiating. April Hall, the Praise and Worship Leader of the church, will be assisting. 

    Tex would have wanted all of his family and friends at his home going service but because of the Covid-19 restrictions, only his brother and sisters will be able to attend his service.
