William Edward “Woogie

Coeburn, Va.-William Edward “Woogie” Hunsaker, II, 34, passed away on Friday, December 15, 2023.
“Woogie,” as William was known by his many friends, had a heart of gold. A beloved son, brother, nephew, uncle, cousin and friend, William’s journey touched the lives of many. His generosity and kindness to others was common knowledge. All who knew William would attest that his greatest personal strength was to offer help to people who were down on their luck. The natural beauty of the great outdoors enriched his soul. William’s strong beliefs in personal freedom supported and perpetuated his love of firearms. Loyalty and love for his family was an enduring quality which sustained William through his life.
William was born in Bristol, Tn. but was a lifelong resident of Coeburn, Va. William graduated from Coeburn High School in 2007. Continuing his education, William earned an associate degree from MECC and studied at UVA-Wise. H & K Rentals was co-owned and managed by William and his parents.
William was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bill Hunsaker and Genevieve Kelly, Raymond Culbertson and Letta; aunt, Caroline Hunsaker Kane; and cousin Allie Gable.
William is survived by his parents, William “Bill” and Susan Hunsaker, Coeburn, Va.; his little brother, Jeffrey Hunsaker, Coeburn, Va. and fiancé, Haley Quillen; aunts and uncles, Bobbie Hunsaker Kyle and Robert, Piney Flats, Tn., and Bill, Virginia Beach, Va., Jeff Culbertson and Emerald, Blountville, Tn. and Robin Culbertson Freels and Mike, Chuckey, Tn.; “Mamaw” Maxie Culbertson, Lebanon, Va. and many cousins, countless friends and business associates; and his beloved rescue pets, “Hershey” and “Girlie.”
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Sturgill Funeral Home in Coeburn, Va. on Saturday, January 13, 2024, with visitation at 1:00pm and service at 2:00pm. William was greatly loved and will be greatly missed by all.
